I've had several different kinds of snails in my tank. I was confidant that this was a dwarf Nassarius snail, but recently I had a parasitic snail make outs way into my tank but burrowing out of a sea star some months after adding it, so I'm a little paranoid. Can someone confirm that this is indeed a Naasarius snail and not something I should remove. I only doubt myself because after having these snails for 2 years now I have never seen one with a proboscis like this. Not the best pic but It's brown and Seems to have a mind of It's own.

I dont see any of the details i know for looking for a whelk.

Is the “snout” patterned?

But looks like nassarius to me. If you watched it come out of the sand it definitely is as whelks dont borrow

It's solid brown from what I can tell. Thank you, just needs some reassurance

Look at the siphon canal...whelks are very tightly channeled
