I have this whitish dust look debris starting to cove my rock, the picture is hard to make out, my gobies are sifting it over the rocks, I thought it was sand at first, should I be concerned, my tank is only 5months old.

How fine of sand do you have?
Could be a detritus build up but if its sticking it's from lack of flow. Take a Turkey baster and baste them off. Itll go down into the filter sock. My 60 gallon did this until I got the right flow set up in it. I just chocked it up to detritus/dust.

It looks just like the stuff that came out my sand when I bought a diamond goby. It turned out to be detritus from the sand and it should blow off. After a week or so the rocks returned to normal. If that is what it your filter/ filter sock will load up a lot faster than you are used to.

I just finished blowing it off the rock with Baster, all the fish were eating it, my sand is real fine, sugar sand, found that a problem during cycling, LFS had me go over it with bigger grain and said should be ok.. my 2 Diamond gobies are during all they can to bring it up it seams.

Never had a sand sifting gobie but I imagine they loved that alot for how fine it was.
