Mine does the same but I have to admit not quite as closed. I usually dont see the skeleton that bad.

Now the normal questions...

How old is your tank?

What are your parameters?

What other critters do you have in the tank?

Something has upset it greatly
Moderate light and water flow, Ph range- 8.0-8.3, temperature range 77-79 and salinity at 1.025-1.026
Are you dosing anything and how are you dosing if so ?
Age of tank ?

couple months over 1 year old the tank is. just got the coral 2 days ago. Daytime it seems to be pretty open and happy it opens up a little as the night goes on. saltinity is 1.025 on the dot maby 1.026 i do not dose anything i do not check parameters only ammonia. It is the only coral and the tank holds a maderan dragonet, hermit crabs, two clown, and a diamond goby which is soon to be relocated

Corals need a few things to do well. If you can swing it I would get a test kit for Cal, alk, and mag.

Nitrates and Phosphate are good to test for as well when keeping corals.

If some of those numbers are out of whack then corals dont like it.

Nitrate 5
Mag 1470
Calcium 500
Phosphate 1

I used a salfreit test kit to test these kinda confused on the phosphate it was around a .5 to 1 but the instructions say to divide it by 3 if your looking for a phosphate/ phosphorus ppm ? Huh

since it's only been a few days and it looks normal in the day time I wouldn't worry just keep observing and see if it improves over the next few weeks
