So i just got my 2nd new emperor angel fish today and its been hiding under a rock literally . I seen them at pet shops doing almost the same thing so i wanted to know is this normal? My first emperor is swimming around exploring the tank having the time of its life but this other one found a hole a and maid it home.

55 gallon long , 75.5 temperature, 8.0 Ph , 0 ammonia , 0 nitrate , 0 nitrite , 9 kh , 1.024 salinity. And i have not tested The rest.

Thank you that puts my mind at ease. It must be an ocean fish because they are the only ones that let my skunk shrimp Clean them .

Most likely just figuring out it's new home.

Did I read this right and you have 2 emperors in the tank?

Just be prepared for them to get too large for the tank and one might become very aggressive to the other after maturing. I knownits a 55g long which is probably 48" but the height and width will cramp large fish.

These fish can get over a foot long

Did you just get both together or just stick this one in after the other has been in there a while? That would make a difference in what the answer would be. Also as stated above, you are going to have a BIG problem because one of these is probably going to want to run the tank and the other is going to get beaten up. One is a handful but two in a 55 will not end well in my opinion. Are you upgrading soon?

I got one yesterday and this one today . But this one wasnt looking so good at the store but i thought maybe it would be better in my tank because it was in a small space . I got home set the bag on the water surface (lights off)to let the temperature adjust . Then i emptied the bag into a container ( i only use for acclimation) where then i acclimated the water for 25 minutes with 1 drop per second and it looked like it was ok but i noticed the color on the scale was kinda faided i didnt know if thats something they did so i just placed him or her in and it went strait under a rock . Then my wife notice it was floating around the tank a few minutes ago after lights out .
