Is this normal??

I looked at my cabbage coral and it has these weird looking rice things all under its skin. They don't appear to be moving. Is this a pest or part of the coral?

I hope so. They aren't moving, but I've had the coral for several months and I've never seen it have those rice grain bits before. I don't know if it's a sign of a problem, pests, or normal. I'd appreciate some experienced thoughts.

Oh good. What part of the coral? sclerites? Is there a reason I would prominently see it sometimes and other times not at all?
