I just picked up this open brain last night, last night this was not on the coral. I assume it’s just from stress and adjusting, but i want to be sure. i’ve had euphyllia secrete similar looking white fuzzy stuff and it receded and went back to normal in a few days and i am hoping for the same situation here. Thank you in advance!

Looks like mesenterial filaments, basically part of the corals digestive tract. They can expel them when disturbed or to fight with other corals. Nothing to really worry about, they should pull them back in shortly.

Awesome, thank you! That’s what I had hoped haha but still new to reefing and freaking out over most things. Appreciate your response.

Yeah it’s normal for open brains to do this. I have noticed them when I had hermits in my tank and they would be near there and then these white filaments showed up. Also noticed it when I went bare bottom and I thought it was trying to grow on the glass but I think it was just irritated.
