So for the past two months I have been fighting dinos. Blackouts, raised the temp to 80, Kalk to raise PH to 8.2. Nothing is killing them long term.

To me this looks like Ostreopsis.

additionally I am dealing with turf algae as seen below.

My plan at this time is to remove the rock with the turf algae to get all the algae off because I think it is sucking up the nutrients keeping me in this cycle. I will also clean all the power heads. The DT is pretty clean of equipment and the weir will be scrubbed before the lights come back on to be caught by my filter roller.

Thanks for reading.

agree on ostreopsis, and the algae looks like GHA to me.

Thank you. The GHA was pretty thick. And has been 98% removed. I am starting a three day blackout. Now based on what I read water changes should not be done but I am supposed to skim wet?
Thank you sir.

Running UV will have a far bigger positive impact on ostreopsis than whether you skim set/dry or replace the skimmed water with water changes.
