I'm buying my wave makers next weekend and I want to know if what I'm planning is overkill for a 55.

When the pump on the right is running the back left will run with it then when it shuts off and the pump on the left turns on the bak right one will turn on.

Sides: 2x 1150gph
Back: 2x 600gph

Should be fine since you are controlling them.

be careful with the brand of powerhead you purchase. Before i purchased an vortech or jebao, i was using a sicce wave maker with my koralia and then aqueon powerheads plugged into the wave making unit. Something to do with the wave maker sending and stopping power to the powerheads would reverse the way they push water, causing alot of noise, as well as blasting around sand i didnt want disturbed.

What will be your main species??? Softies, Lps, Sps??? more flow directions allows greater feeding just what you chose to grow GPH may need to be increased or decreased.

The ocean and environments that everything come from is diverse why not or tank. Personally I think your doing it right.
