Is this overkill

I have a Reefer 170 which is about 40 gal total water volume, I started with a reef octopus 150ss and then I took that off line as I wanted to run a refugium. I then got a deal on a skimz Macroalgae reactor that I couldn't pass up. I was able to get them both to fit but I am now curious if this is going to be overkill on my tank.
