Is This Plastic Reef Safe

So work was tossing these brad new chemical containment tote stands. Stands consist of a chemical resistant tub with an elevated platform. The platforms the plastic in question. So like any other reefer on here would see... they would make perfect frag racks for a frag tank. These are new, never was exposed to any harsh chemicals. There are no signs or engraving on them. Are they aquarium safe?

I think anyone here would need to know what exactly they were made from before committing to saying they are reef safe.
Chances are if they are designed for use with chemicals they are, but need to know for certain.
Is there a way of finding out?

There should be a recycling code on them somewhere. Check to see what it is and look up the food safe recycle codes. If it is then generally will be reef. Many plastics leach chemicals so at a bare minimum you want it to be food safe.

They look to be made from the same thing my brute horse troft is made from. That black composite material.
Ive used my brute container and would say its reef safe. With out seeing in person idk for sure though.

No markings or recycling code. Would they continually leach? Could I soak in water for an extended period of time? Leach out everything that would come out.

Eggcrate IS cheap. It’s flimsy and not aesthetically pleasing. These racks are stout and they have their own little feet to keep them elevated.

Yes they do, I agree. Molded polyethylene I believe.
