I have a green polyp pocillo in my 8 gallon, it was doing perfectly fine as with all the rest of my corals, until my camel shrimp ( which I have not been able to catch at all ) started to enjoy ripping up its polyps. Most of it looks ok, and the rest of the polyps are out, but it really worries me. This is my first shot at SPS, I know what I'm doing but still lack experience.

I have a ponape birdsnest and 2 montipora in there that are perfectly happy, so I know it's the shrimp.

Should I frag the parts that are picked off ? Or just seperate it, dip in iodine, and place on some eggcrate on the side where the shrimp can't get it ? Or both ? Help me out guys, I adore this coral. It was doing superb just yesterday.

They are a very hardy sps .

Give it some good light and flow and it should work it's magic.

Just make sure You get that camel shrimp out . There known for picking .

Thank you. Do you have any suggestions on how to get rid of him ?

Night time . Or if he is eating frozen food try the bottle trick . Cu the top off the bottle and use the bottom with some fishing line once you see him to in bring it up . Make sure your standing with the bottle lol.

Thanks for the advice.. I thought about fragging it but I don't want to stress it out even more. If it gets worse I will for sure.

Get a glass bottle and rest it standing up against a rock and throw in a silverside

I would cut the dead tissue part of so no algae can grow on it good luck prayers are with the little guy

Thanks everyone.. ill definitely try that duke. Jay, I think with high enough flow it won't get any, its right next to my koralia.
