For poor folks who have an inadequate LED can you over come the low par rating buy making the lighting schedule longer? In other words, for an adequate par LED most do 8 hours. Then for the inadequate less expensive LED could you limp along and with your poor budget and light your corals for say 16 hours. I'm Just talking in general, with beginner corals, nothing specific. I do not know how corals would use (or not) the longer photosynthetically active radiation. Anyone tried this, what was the outcome? Thanks

I'm not sure this can be done with corals, though I have heard of people doing this with plants and it works ok. For overall health it's probably not the best idea though.

I'm not sure what type of leds you have or how much you paid for them but you can find cheap led lighting that will light even the most light demanding corals.
