Is this precipitation? Dosing alk but not going up

My new tank had a low alk 6.9 so I was dosing alk slowly over 24 hours. Tested again this morning and all was 6.6 down from 6.9. My salt mix gives me 7 dkh at 1.025 salinity. Doing some reading could it be clumping in the sand?

To check for clumping sand you have to physically check it with hand or a tool of some sort and look to see clumps that are bigger then your originally added sand size

Your pictures look like just air pockets in a new tank to me. Run something thru the sand and bubbles will come up everywhere. On any new tank I set up I always run something g along the whole edge where you can see it thru the glass orher wise it looks funky after some time
