Fair warning- this may be a bad idea.

The question is would this product be safe to use around/in a reef tank?

https://www.detrapel.com/science

It drives me crazy when I put my hand or a piece of equipment in a tank and water drips everywhere. This is the main reason I don’t use gloves. Well I saw this water repellent spray and thought...what if I could spray the gloves or feeder or whaterever else I’m dunking in the tank? I don’t know how “non toxic” it really is though.

why take a risk? justput towels on the floor or have someone handy next to you to pass you the towel , and my mom says why u always asking your brothers helps and that just ticks me off ,no body wants to pay couple of g for mold.

It says food safe too which is normally a good indication that it’s ok. Why don’t you try it and report back. ;)

Unfortunately, they provide no information on what it is (only some things that it is not lol) and provide no suitable information to assess toxicity.

The food safe link is not useful, IMO. It is not claiming food grade material All it says is how much comes off of some surface in 10% ethanol. While it is a low amount, and I expect it is likely to be safe in a reef application, there's no real data to say.

Filter it out with charcoal

Do you know the released form would bind to GAC? Particles might not, even if hydrophobic.

One concern is the potential very fine particle nature of the product, and the possibility that organisms may consume it thinking it looks like bacteria.
