Hello All,
new tank about 5 months old. Waterparameters normal, temp about 80-81, four fish and live rock and green polyp, hammer coral, and pulsing Xenia corals, dosing with aqua forest components 1,2,3.
So, is this purple or red coral line algae?? I bought the obviously completely purple rocks from an existing tank to seed my tank with coralline. Several months later I am seeing purple and green coralline growth along with natural cycling stuff on my rocks/tank. But, in some areas (next to my corals specifically it seems) purple coralline algae is spreading faster and thicker! So thick I can blow it off with a baster. It looks great, but it seems to be growing to fast and thick for me to trust that it is coralline... any ideas people? I’d love the help. Here are the pics.
also, if I let the algae sit long enough on the rocks like a week or so bubbles will form underneath it, but I can blow the bubbles away. Doesn’t look like bubble algae to me though.
