Is this really Diatoms, if so any suggestions?

I had some red algea similar to that and I got a fox face and he keeps it manageable. Do I'd reccomend looking into getting a foxface

I already have a foxface and 3 tangs

It does look like algae, and I think the Foxface is just the right idea, before poisoning the tank with chemicals. Sally Jo Headlee at GARF.org has recommended the Foxface to help to keep algae under control,....I'm not sure you want to kill it anyway, it maybe helping you keep your other things balanced,...like your nitrates. Killing it all off at once might really mess up your tank! Be gentle and cautious!

Sorry, I missed that you already have tangs and foxface,....do they eat it at all? Maybe you need a different fish? Different ones come from different areas and eat different kinds of algaes. Go talk to Sally Jo, she's on Facebook and has her own site too, called GARF.org. Send her your pictures. She can help!

They eat some of it ... Imy one tang loves to eat it off the power head, and the rocks lower in the tank, the at the top where it's thickest they seem to leave it be for the most part

Even if one started with high powerful light but has not changed the bulbs over time they certainly will loose spectrum and need to be changed. Wanted to give a quick update. I used 15 pills of the Reef Flux, and after one week things are def working on the algae. Interesting, I'm starting to see some bright red stuff on some rocks. I'm assuming all the turf algae was covering it up. Haven't figured out yet if it's Coraline algae for some other kind of algae. Seems brighter then what today expect Coraline to be. But
