Counterpoint- I have cyano in the immediate stream of a gyre xf250 running at 60%... it first appeared there and spread downThat is cyano bacteria. It could be on rock before it hits sand bed. Area that is less flow cyano grows first

It sticks to the rock like regular algae. It's tough to get rid of it.
