Is this Red Hair Algae?

While admiring my new torch today, I noticed this red hair looking thing growing off of the base of the coral. I tried picking it off with tweezers but didn’t have any luck. I ended up taking the coral out of the tank and tried brushing it off but when I put it back in the tank, it showed up again. Any thoughts on what it is?

Fist Pic looks a bit like a vermitid snail. Can't really make anything out in the secondary. Maybe get a Pic under white light? You can even use a flashlight so you don't have to change it tank lighting.
