Is this Rhomboid a Super Male??

So I have had this guy for about 5-6 months. He started out as a drab looking sub male. Virtually no color and maybe 2.5 inches. He has been in my tank with assorted fairy wrasse that are larger. He has grown to about 3.5 to 4 inches and has changed color big time, it looks like half of his body has turned purple.... Is he a super male yet or in transition??

Looks like a nice maturing rhomboid to me. When I had mine I would see some color change as they grow would see more purple.

"Super male" can't get any more colorful, it is a peak specimen in color, intensity, and display. Yours is a male, just not super male.

Agree, but also recognize that the term is much more used as a marketing term in the trade to maximize profits.

It's a terminal male.

If you look at my Rhomboid, the first third of its body is turning more purple, and the last 2-3 is more whitish purple...I guess the male coloration is growing back??

I know my Lineatus is a super male lol!!!
