I was told by my LFS to add more dry rock as my PH was low - The man who owns the shop said to rinse the sun dried rocks off before use - I did and a good amount of algae came off of them - Will I get a life ending ammonia spike from the junk on my rocks or is it a slow decay process? Just to be safe I am running two bags of purigen in my tank alongside a small packet of zeovit

One thing I can say with certainty is more rock is not going to help with a low pH problem. :D How would it???

Yes, the dead stuff will decay (likely lowering pH :D) .

There's not likely to be a problematic ammonia spike in an established tank.

Geuss that mean's ill still need to buffer every week - What will the rock do beside look pretty?
