Just buy it.. the scratch will you bug you wt first but thrn you wont even care... algae can build in them but can be cleaned with more scrubbing..
TBH all my tank have a deep scratcj or two in them... and its just part of having a fish tank to me it doesnt bother me... now 200 scratchs does..
That scratch is too low to care anyway with 2 or 3 inches of sand.. the scratch will be only what 2 or 3 inch above the sand bed.. you wont notice it much.
What you should be more concerned with are the seals and the age if its 8-10+ years old.. id reseal it.
Alao how much is the tank. I got my 135 with its stand for 100$.
If the tank is more then 300$ i wouldnt bother for a 125g they are more common then fleas on a dog. some people sell (reef ready) tanks for way too much money.. I know people who sell these little dang reef 20g cubes for 400$ what the heck ???
Oh i see 650 but it has a nice canopy... i dunno still seems like alot to me... Id pass and find a cheaper 125 but thats just me honestly.. lol im cheap and i try to find the 100-200$ deals on aquariums. I havent spent more then 250$ for a fish tank.. 250 was my 92g bowfront.
An apex controller changes things if it works though.

Yeah he has alot of equipment with the tank. A bunch of lights, big sump, calcium reactor, skimmer, dc pumps, a lot of rock, etc

Yes sir. I bought it. I actually got it down to $625 because I bought some celium oxide, etc to repair it.
