Is this skimmer too much for my 75 gallon?

no sir ,,,,,just remember to add some trace elements to your tank once or twice a month ,,,big skimmers in little tanks are ok to run ,they do a number on your trace elements and they need to be replaced ...you should be ok. and you will have a great skimmer when you decide to go bigger !!!!

Ive done extensive tests and its pretty much impossible to overskim a tank. Ive heard that it removes trace elements but personally had no issues, although I keep up with a good water change schedule. I would suggest a slightly more updated design like a nw or recirc skimmer. There is some great new technology out there and for that kind of price range there are some other options that might actually perform better IMO.

I agree, that you probably can't overskim.

However, I think that you can spend a heck of a lot less and get a better skimmer that is large enough to grow into.

Take a look at some of the newer needle wheel skimmers out there in the below $300 range. You will be glad you did.

I purchased the skimmer in the post for $150, I don't think i could have beat that
