Hey everyone,

I have a turbo snail that hasn’t moved in close to a week. I came home from work and noticed that he fell off the rock he was on and looks pretty weird.

Should I pull this guy out of my tank?

Thanks!

I would pull it and touch it and see if it moves or pull it and smell it. If it dead and you smell it you will know instantly.

Flip it over, see if it moves away.

Second that, just flip him over or dump on a rock see if it attaches. Don't smell it if you can avoid it lol but you will know instantly if it's dead - and possibly put off the hobby for life haha

Makes low tides smell like roses. Lol

Thanks for your responses everyone!

Alright well I pulled it and it wouldn’t stick to anything. Had it a sniff and yikes... RIP.

Should I leave it in the tank for the CUC to take care of? The shell is pretty sweet and would love one of my hermits to take it over at some point.

If it’s toxic or anything I’ll go ahead and pull it out.

There is plenty for your cuc to eat. Toss it.

Pull it out bro if it's smells its already rotting. Maybe a crab could eat but I'd rather save the ammonia spike to be fair...
Can use a pin to pull the snail out of the shell, it'll make your eyes water in that state lol.

Good work though!

Yeah I guess I’ll go ahead and take it to the outdoor trash can then. I think my LFS sells empty shells anyways... Thanks guys!

My coral banded shrimp rips them out even if they just get a little too weak... I've put him in the other tank [emoji1787]

Nothing will eat that. Remove it for the sakes of whatever else is in the tank; fish have noses too!
