Bristle worms..good CUC
Be careful with your fingers

picture does no justice of the true size of these we are talking about half inch wide and 8 - 12 " long

Your tank is too small for a foxface

that is a friends tank and shes aware of that she recently got into the hobby and knows a larger tank is going to be needed and is currently looking for one.

Definitely not your common average bristle worm. All of these worms are bristle worms but trying to identify the not so desirable ones are a little trickier. The one on the bottom concerns me somewhat since that head region (I am assuming here) looks to me more of a non desirable type but I am not 100%. Any chance to get a picture of an entire one?

to get a better picture i'll have to go to her house as shes pretty afraid to put her hands near them which was my advice from the start then she sent the picture with the size. Seems like removal of the larger ones would be a better route as there are still plenty of smaller worms thru her live rock. I also noticed the one worm appeared to be more flat in what looks to be the head location.

I'd take it to the LFS It "might" be worth something to the owner.
Also a worm that big would find it hard to find enough food in a 30 gl & might start eyeballing a fish !

I would definitely remove them then. I have seen some large common bristle worms but they show the tell tale two coloration. These are a solid color but that bottom one as I mentioned concerns me a little from the way the morphology of the head is since I have seen predatory ones with a similar structure. If you go down to her place see if you could get a full body shot of one up close.

Those do not look like the common bristleworms we see! Makes me think of the giant types people find after breaking down an old tank.

Couple of them resemble fireworms..best to remove to be safe.

Yeah, those don't look like typical bristleworms. Definitely get them out of the tank...

Wonderful Petco premium rocks that tank isn't but 3 months old....

Just removed 2 from my tank. Killed some of my tank mates by them accidentally stinging them. I have 1 emerald crab still paralyzed. Not sure if he’s going to make it.

I've had the same looking worms in my tank for a while. They don't seem to harm anything. So I leave them be.

I've pulled a couple out in the past to examine them some. Those are both in my 10 gallon now. Largest I've seen stretched out was around 12". Most are smaller, around 6" or so.
