So I had a tank crash documented here with water test still to come. https://www.reef2reef.com/threads/sps-are-melting-before-my-eyes.661073/page-3

Well I figured since almost everything was dead that I cared most about now was the time to pull my rocks and get off any unwanted corals such as zoa colonies that have popped up or pocillopora that has spread and scrubbed off unwanted algae. Then I rinsed them off in old tank water and put them in my cryptic Fuge. I was thinking I could kill off any unwanted corals I missed and any algae would die off in the darkness. Without sacrifices 1/2 my already established bacteria, critter, stability that the rocks help maintain.

Thought on the process? Sound logic?

Well,
Either way you go, make sure your very careful about dealing with (handling) unwanted zoas.

They can be very toxic depending on the species and if they came from an deep ocean environment.
