So I'm thinking about buying this set up but I'm concerned about how the stand is built. I've seen stands like this but they make me nervous. What do you think? Tank is 90 gallons.

Not that I know of....the stands I've used in the past had much wider studs.

Honestly this stand looks like its actually made with real hard wood. Most manufactured stands are just thin basically melamine and somehow people trust them.

Personally I'd trust it just fine for it just being a 90g

Thanks. I'm no engineer but it just looked flimsy to me...

Well, honestly, most tanks under 150-200g are overbuilt in the industry unless you want to climb on your aquarium while its filled. Mine is 4' tall just made with 2x4s but I'd trust it even if I got on my tank with it filled lol

Almost every tank & Stand combo I've seen looks like the stand isn't strong enough. Even the Waterbox I just got, the stand doesn't have any large wood to hold it up. It's basically the same as almost all the others out there, just panels without major support.

Thank you.....Ive seen plenty like this but ive also seen ones that looked sturdier.

I'd think the stand was engineered for the tank, then It would be fine. Looks good too!
I wouldn't want a stand made with laminated particle board.

Assuming no internal water damage, it'll be fine. Don't think I've ever seen a tank stand with rail/stile side panels though. Curious choices. A 3/4" ply side is better in my view. Also, FWIW, a plywood box is incredibly strong, and has none of the movement problems of dimensional lumber.
