I had a beautiful Hollywood stunner Chalice. I've been on vacation here and there the last few weeks, and recently added more flow to my tank for my SPS. The chalice has been quickly deteriorating the last few days.

I believe it could be from alk swings, but not sure. Think I can save it?

Temp- 78f
Alk- today 8.4
Salinity- 1.026
Ca- 415
Po4- 0.08
Nitrate- 10

its peeling that's typical from
A spikes in nutrient
B chemical warfare
what's worrisome is that's a hollywood stunner those can survive in a toilet alk spike, nutrient spike these shouldn't phase it
I would put my money on chemical warfare or you're pointing that powerhead directly it.

Thanks! My P04 is high, but it's been that level for about two months.

I only have a xenia nearby it, which isn't new and has had an ongoing stinging battle with. I do have two favias nearby each other elsewhere in the tank that have recently been at war.

Should I turn off the power head for a few weeks and see what happens?

give the xenia some space bag of carbon

Added some carbon and turned off the power head. Pic is this morning. This guy is rapidly deteriorating. Could have a bacterial disease? Should I try a dip as last resort?

I would have iodine dipped it as soon as it started. I would be extremely gentle as it looks like that remaining flesh may just peel off.
