Is this Tang sick?

So I have this tang just a couple of weeks ago. I was told it was a kole tang but was put right in this thread below. Few different types were suggested, all of which get huge. So I have agreed with my lfs to trade it in for a yellow tang when one is available. Could be a month or two away.

What Tang have I just got..?

I wanted a Kole Tang, but other members think its not a kole at all, my lfs werent totally sure but I bought it anyway.. I have a reefer 350 btw

Anyway, The last few days I’ve noticed a white patch on its face, some white behind the left eye now too.
The fish appears healthy, swimming lots, no aggression and eating fine.

should I be worried and remove from my tank asap..?

Is this during or shortly after lights have been out, or constant? I would just feed good fresh food and seaweed and watch it

It could be the start of some HLLE mixed in with some color fading (can’t say what that is). No sense pulling it, as if it ends up being a contagious issue (unlikely I think) they have already been exposed. My concern is what will the dealer think when you return the fish with discoloration?
If you you really want to be proactive, you could give the fish a 5 minute freshwater dip, and see if flukes drop off, but really, I don’t think that the risk in doing that is worth it.

Thanks. Yes I agrees, my lfs might not want to give me the full value for it anymore. i might email them a pic and see what they think..
