Just wondering if this tank is worth what is being asked for it. They are asking $700.
No stand. Just the tank 2 lights and the pipework.
No hoods either but that can be bought SEPERATE.
Online it sales for roughly 1800 from what I'm seeing.
It's a marine land 250 gallon .
The specs are where the UPC label is.

If I’m not mistaken, Marineland tanks had serious seam failure issues. I probably wouldn’t put 250 gallons of water in it for free

Its worth it provided it has a stand. Warranty isnt viable without their stand.

I’d go with a used IM, water box, or Red Sea before I went with that thing. Too many stories of hundreds of gallons of water on the ground and complete livestock loss. I bought all my tanks used and never paid more than $700 for a full set up with stand, pipes, sumps, skimmer, etc. I did buy my lights separately though. Really great deals of FB marketplace and criagslist for used tanks that are still in new condition and you get way more bang for your buck

I use a Marineland tank, by the sounds of what I've been hearing the last 2 months about red Sea tanks silicone letting go...this is the better option.

Can't wait to see the build

I wonder what Red Sea does when that happens? Do they compensate? Does the customer sue? I mean...how do they get away with it?

Wow. I guess Marineland is not popular at least in this thread I see.

Never owned one so who knows, I would double check the warranty as Cory stated.
The flash has made the part number unreadable.

What are the dimensions? I bet it only holds 200G

You can find a muuuuuch better deal for 700 if you look through Facebook, Craigslist, offer up, R2R marketplace. I got a 45 gal cube with sump and stand. Plus Vectra M2, Kessil 360WE (with controller), Octo 120 skimmer, 1 mp10 QD and a TON of unused misc stuff for 600. All were within a year of use. Just be patient and diligently look for deals as the good ones get snatched up fast! Granted my tank is not the size you are looking for but just the equipment I got was worth the price alone. Ive seen Redsea and IM tanks that are around the size you are looking for, for close to 700 or 800 and it includes the stand and sometimes equipment. Good luck!

The 300 deep dimension tanks do have a reputation of failing. I do not know about this one. Also the drains it comes with are undersized if you want a lot of flow through the sump. That can be fixed with wavemakers.

This just needs to stop and is not fair to Marineland. They sell probably 100,000x what a custom tank builders will sell. They are going to have a lot more failures because they have so many more tanks out there. I would really love to see some proof that Marineland tanks fail at a higher rate than any other tank.
I have a 120 Marineland here and the only thing I would change would be a low iron from glass. Other than that I am plenty happy and have never had an issue, albeit on my own custom stand and voided their warranty from day 1.
All that being said I don’t think that is a great deal and I would hold out for something else. Divorces and other things happen where people need to cut some costs and make some money quickly. I personally would wait but I wouldt shy away from Marineland

+1 to use the money to buy a used setup.
$650CAD got me a 265 gallon, stand, vertex IN-180 skimmer, and 2 250w metal halide lights. Also included was an assortment of odds and ends, but those are the big ticket items.

A further $200CAD is getting me a used 140 gallon sump.

I’ve had marineland DD that have held up fine and I’ve had a 265 let go during a water test. I’d water test it in the garage. 700 isn't a bad price just be mindfulness of what it is.

I've been looking for that exact tank. As far as I can tell they are discontinued. I would happily pay $700 for a new 250 DD....
