Ouch man. I haven't experienced that one yet. Just another ugly obstacle for us to cross! Kudos on getting your nitrates so low. I've always had this problem, anything below 20 would be a real surprise lol

My tank looks similar to yours, with the neon green. Yours turned into Cyno? I was hoping to skip right to coralline.

almost 3 weeks in and i still have the cyano. I do blow it off the coral and rocks daily, and stir the sand occasionally, but I only do a water change every two weeks. I'm not sure how much longer I have to go, but i'm chugging along.

Sucking it out may help more than blowing it off. You can hang a filter sock, filled with filter floss, in the sump. Then start a siphon into that sock and use the house like a vacuum. This way you can do alot of removing without losing water

What is in the tank currently? I see some frags. Any fish? How much light is it getting from the window? Because it looks like it’s getting enough to promote algae. Rocks are just obviously providing a better place for algae atm. Maybe leeching or maybe you bought live sand and so it’s safer area?

Either way it’s normal at the earliest stages. But I do worry about your window light going forward. Lots of greens and reds from there but it is hard tell from the photos.

Well, the tank is not in direct light and never gets hit with sun. I tried taking a picture while the lights are off but the picture makes it look like there is bright light shining on rhe side of it, but it's not. There is no direct light at all.

I have 7 fish, cerith snails, bumble bee snails, few blue legged hermits, and a Serpent sea star. I wanna add more fish but that's a while nother conversation. I have 7 coral frags. The only coral I have that's not happy is the candy cane coral, but again, that's a topic for another day

And parameters are good? How are you lighting/setup ? Tbh if params are good then it will work itself out. Growing algae in the sump may help. Refugium is a miracle cure

I haven't tested my water in a few days since I did a water change but prior to that my parameters haven't changed much, very stable.

It’s green so it’s light dependent. Only remedy is time or black outs. And you have coral .. so just time

If probably just stick to what you’re doing. Let the sand bed settle and do its job
