Yes I have hermits with it on there shells. But I'm asking if the purple spots on the rocks is start of coralline?Do you have any snails? If not get some they have it on there shells or buy it in a bottle .
Yes had diatoms and hair algae and my rocks went green. Turned lights off for a few weeks and it went. I do have massive chaeto growing in my sump aswell. I have vipaspectara lights only running whites at 1 % now. The pics are from after I turned lights out and it started clearing up.Rocks look awfully clean for 7 months. Ever have an ugly phase? What lights?
I have bits of purple on my powerheads. But I 100% have purple and pink starting on my rocks. I think it is coralline and its becoming more prominent each day. I'm going to post a few pics in a few days. Why else would purple and pink grow on my rocks. I'm just a newbie so all opinions welcomeI agree with the above. Your rocks should turn brown, then green and eventually purple if the environment is right. Coraline typically starts on the plastic parts first like powerheads long before the rocks
Well I wish you success and you know your tank. From an outside perspective, the rocks and sand sure look pristine for 7 months and to some of us that means the tank hasn't been going through it evolutionary phases the first year perhaps because you said you turned lights off for some weeks to deal with diatoms.I have bits of purple on my powerheads. Cyanobacteria can also be pink to red. Squirt it with a turkey baster. If it sticks, coralline algae.I have bits of purple on my powerheads. But I 100% have purple and pink starting on my rocks.
