Is this too many fish too add at once

I want to add a cb, mandarin goby, and a blue tang all together at once in my 50 gallon because I need to buy them together in order to get free shipping is this too much too add at once? also one thing is that they’re all baby’s at 1-3 inches.

The Tang should be in a larger tank, 50 gallon is too small for a tang.
Hopefully your tank is prepared for a mandarin.

But otherwise, adding 3 small fish at once into a 50 gallon can be done safely IMO (assuming the tank is cycled)

The tank is 6 months old and I’m going to swap out the tang once it gets to big or just get a bigger tank by the time it gets too big

I think you are setting yourself up for failure unfortunatly with the mandarin and Tang but that is a different topic. To answer your question though, it is tough to say without knowing your filtration and tank maturity.

I have two clown fish annd a crab and I had another fish that died I don’t know if that makes a difference.

I think you'll be just fine. As long as they aren't the first fish in the tank, your tank should be able to handle adding those tiny fish together. You have a plan for the tang so that's good. If you have a good pod population and a way for them to keep reproducing, the mandarin will be happy.

This addition of fish isn't a cycling risk at all though they're just more non prepped fish

am saying that in 2005 adding a few unprepped fish was not a big deal, and that it's changed now to such a big deal the disease forum is the busiest forum on this site and on any other reef site/fish are being wiped out by the bucketload and since we can't alter collection and holding variables contributing to disease transmission, it falls on the keeper to now do it.

refusal to read the disease forum does not change the consequence

I have never seen any arrangement in reefing that challenges it's cycle, it's all disease issues we face nowadays

It came from the pet shop sick and just died randomly and it died probably 2-3 months ago

the big question is when because a sick fish can introduce disease into the tank. By cb do you mean copperband butterfly or which fish? If copperband it is also too large for your tank. Coral beauty is fine if you mean them

Coral beauty and i dont think it was a spreadable sickness or if it was it didn’t spread because its been a while and the rest of my fish are fine

The coral beauty is fine - but I'd pick two different fish (no dragoneta or tangs).
