Hey everyone

So I'm getting ready to set up my 55 gallon tank very soon.

So I thought this would be a good time to throw together a fish stocking list.

As I mentioned it's a 55 gallon tank.
Here's a few lists I threw together would like to here feedback.

List 1
One spot foxface
Royal Gramma
2 ocellaris clowns
3 Anthias (in not sure what kind was thinking bartletts, I'd take suggestions)

List 2
One spot foxface
Royal Gramma
2 ocellaris clowns
5 blue/green chromis

It depends on your filtration whether either of those lists will be 'too much' for your system to handle.

The fish should be compatible.

A foxface will outgrow a 55.

Many have reported chromis whittling themselves down over time. This has not been my experience, but it's a possibility.

I know my filter can handle both lists!
How about this
One spot foxface
Royal Gramma
2 clowns
2 Bartletts Anthias
1 sunburst Anthias
1 Carberryi Anthias

Is this too many fish for a 55? I know the foxface will become to big I'm going to give it to a friend. Other than that am I good?

The carberryi will get picked on by the bartletts.

Would a fairy wrasse be a decent substitute for the carberryi?

To the OP, there's a host of wrasses that are beautiful, peaceful, and easy to care for that would probably make a good replacement to some or all of the anthias.

Yes, any of the flashers, except the eightline, and many of the fairy wrasse species would work.

Agree on all fronts yet again. I might add that anthia tend to best in larger systems from what I've observed, due to reduced stress and more available "naturally occurring" food, in theory.
