received a new elegance coral today. Looks like he's mostly open up i think. But wondering if this is too much flow for him?

Hard to answer, I know they typically are "supposed" to like lower flow, however I have seen them in SPS tanks that have higher flow and they did OK. I would watch it and see how it reacts after a few days.

It looks like it can handle the flow. Observe it for a couple days. Your corals will usually tell you. If there is too much flow, they will not fully extend their tentacles. However, the general rule is to acclimate your creatures slowly. It's better to be cautious.

I slowed the flow, hopefully I can slowly turn it back up

Your post made me think about a Mr Saltwater Tank video I watched about elegance corals. According to the video it looked as though your flow was good.
