I have a 160 gallon sps tank. I do have a few lps(large colony of red mushrooms and large colony of grandios polyps).
I have the fowing for in circulation in my tank:
Maxspect gyre 150 5000gph
Maxspect gyre 130 2300gph
Two rossmont. 1200 1200gph each
Rossmont. 3000 3000gph
That give me 12700 gph of water movement if they were all on at once which they are not. My tank is 57 in long, 29 in deep and. 23 in w. What are you guys thought is this too much flow?

Sounds like you could make one heck of a whirlpool! If you have custom control of all of them I would imagine that would be fine, might take some time to dial it in, but after awhile I can't imagine you'll have may dead spots!

I dont have the custom modules from rossmont or icecap. I do have an apex which i use to turn the rossmonts on and off every so often. I think they are ok to be turned on and off that way.

too much flow is tank by tank. Your aquascaping and inhabitants will determine the need for more or less flow. If you have sand, is it blowing around everywhere? Do your corals look happy -- any tissue loss or polyps not extending? are your fish pinned to the glass :-) ?
