Hello I am in the process of a build, during Black Friday I picked up the elite 150. I was planning on a 100 gal tank. But I am now leaning towards the IM 170.
do you think the elite 150 could handle this projected fish list

Malanarus wrasse
Checker board wrasse
Leopard wrasse
un determined Wrasse
Fox face
Purple tang
Two clowns
Midas Benny
Red Mandarin

tank will be mostly LpS with a few SPS. Like Montis and birdsnest.

thank you

I am currently running three Reef Octopus skimmers, but not the Elite 150. That skimmer is rated at 160 with a medium bio-load and 210 with a light bio-load. IMO you are on the edge and may have to use other methods of filtration such as a algae scrubber (or comparable) to supplement. Good luck with whatever you choose!

Thanks for you input. I plan to run a fuge also.

I have the elite 200int in a 180gal tank and it is a bit inconsistent so the 150 will be fine for your aquarium, the elite ones are not required over sizing they are well rated for the volume they say

Thank you, I am just unsure what would be considered a Light, medium and heavy bio load is. The only two larger fish I plan to have would be purple tang a fox face.
