I just added a large amount of rock. Is it possible to overcrowd your tank with rock. It is a 135 Gallon tank there are 7 fish in here as of now. Does adding more rock lessen the amount of fish I can have because technically there isn't 135 Gallons of swimming area.

Depends on what your final plan is. If it's fish only, that's perfectly fine. If you're planning on putting branching SPS on the highest points they'll probably grow up to the surface (eventually).

If you pan on having fish that need swimming area, the brown rocks in front will interfere with that. Another way to Aquascape is to have some breaks between the rocks for more swimming areas and places for fish to take refuge. It’s also nice to make small semicircle cave like areas as well, making the area in the front of the glass be very irregular in shape To give the scape some contrast.

I definitely wanna see my fish swimming around a lot but my LFS said I needed more rock and places to hide. I wanna see my fish swimming all over and being very active
