some heads have been getting whiter and whiter. Torch looks unhappy today but has been fine for the past week. What do y’all think?

How long have you had the torch in question and have you made any changes lately, if so what?

Had it for about 3 months. No changes except for salt
What salt are you using? Some have been known to be inconsistent from batch to batch, and if they were purchased months apart that could the problem or at least part of it.

Just to double check no lighting schedule/intensity changes or placement?

Instant Ocean Purple Bucket

and a negative to that one. Another thing I should note while unimportant, my house temperature has been hot recently so the tank has been maintaining a temp around 82 (sucks but it’ll start to go back down in a month or so).

Knowing that my guess would be on temperature first, but variations in the salt mix could also be a contributing factor depending on the actual parameters from one bucket to the next.

Instant ocean is low in overall nutrients including calcium, and tends to run alk a little high.
I’m using it myself but have to dose everything back in since it’s depleted immediately. I’d switch to the orange top if you can find it or even Red Sea.
