got this torch about a week or 2 ago and it looks to be splitting. it’s hard to tell from the picture but the base is wide and looks to be branching in a y shape. you can even see through the flesh some dark that i would assume to be a skeleton also shaped like a Y which makes me think that it’s splitting heads. need more opinions because i am relatively new to LPS.

it’s very hard to tell but i think so, i don’t want to damage any tentacles while trying to look and it closing up won’t do me any good.

Okay. Although it does sound like it is splitting, I’d wait for the more experienced refers to chime in :) If it is, this can be a lengthy process for torches compared to hammers/frogspawn.

It does look to be splitting. Not that I’m experienced but I do have a couple torches. That I have kept alive and splitting for around 6 months. Started out as 1 head with 2 mouths that was about to split, now I’m up to four heads. The easiest way to check is at night when it is closed up.

Here is one of mine, I can only count heads when its closed up at night.
