Hey folks. I had some bad dalt batches wipe out almost all of my coral. My ZOAs are looking good now and parameters were mostly good so I picked up a couple small frags. Now I worry it might be too soon. Here is a photo. All parameters were in range except alk which was high at 10.

Looks like someone was eating away on the skeleton there. Is that what you are referring to by bail?

The way he is all puffed up and spread out, standing on top of his skeleton

I did a test strip and had a high iton reading, do not know how accurate the strip is but I have no other test for iton, I wonder if this iron reading could be an issue.

Might be reaching for light or in lower flow, maybe sucking up some water from something that triggered a feeding response.
I don't see white along the edge of the flesh (recent recession), so seems to be maintaining at least.. give some time and see if it returns or stays. If it stays you could adjust its position as far as flow/light go.. but you don't want to go moving it around either - stability at all costs

There is enough base tissue to say it is not bailing out.

He is not placed yet, still in the frag rack. Ill see how he does after a week in that location, and if he is still reaching I will find him a higher permanent home.
