Not sure what is meant by furniture grade but if it is listed to use with potable drinking water it should be ok.
You've never seen PVC patio furniture?

And to answer the OP's question: you should be good. PVC is all polyvinyl chloride which is approved for drinking water

Furniture grade in not NSF tested. That being said, I believe all the colored pipe you can purchase at various places (like BRS) are in fact furniture grade.

Thanks guys. Just wanted to be sure before I order some. If anyone was curious this is Home Depot.

The difference is furniture grade pvc is not pressure rated. But it is still schedule 40 pvc just nicer looking. Every Bulk Reef Supply tank uses it. If you look around you'll find a lot of great looking tanks using it. I just bought 20 feet of regular white 1" pvc pipe for $11 yesterday.

I believe the the difference is that the furniture grade is UV resistant (since it is used for making patio furniture and outdoor projects) and has the glossy finish.
