I have and probably would again buy fish depending on the observed condition. But I'm prepared with QT, meds and the time needed to try to "rescue" a fish. If the water supply is shared, all of the fish have potentially been exposed. Velvet reproduces at an amazing rate. The whole store is 1 system, would u buy aanything from this store if other fish are nkt showing symptoms?
Tell tale velvet symptoms right there...
I wouldn't be afraid to buy anything having the proper QT practices in place. Just be very careful not to cross contaminate your DT or other "clean" systems.
That swimming into flow then flashing then a lap around the tank back to the flow is very common for an acanthurus tang with velvet. They are usually the first to show symptoms. They have very little protection.
My kole tang swims against my powerhead in an attempt to eat algae from it. It lasts about 5 seconds. So seeing something like that occasionally is not abnormal. If it's being done constantly that is when it becomes a concern.Just a thought so i know what to look for. If i see fish “enjoying” high flow but not flashing and or circling around to it multiple times, is that still a sign? Ive seen what appears to be fish that just like to swim in high current...
