Sometimes during shipping the fish get roughed up in the bags and these red sores appear after a few days in the QT. Usually a bacterial infection from the damage and the stress to the fish's immune system. Have had real good results using NFG powder on these sorts of red sores. If that is what we are looking at on your fish.shipped from liveaquaria about a week ago
It's used fairly commonly during treatment for velvet during copper. The "trifecta" of kanaplex, metro, furan is very effective for bacterial infections.well i don't have NFG, but i do have kanaplex/metroplex/furan 2, but i was advised that stuff doesn't really work well in a tank with copper

how does that go with GC? i just did the final dose today and apparently that stuff works quickly so i guess i could give it the day and start in on the trifecta tomorrow
General cure had prazi in it. Should be fine with the other two.
well it also has metronidazole in it and i'd be dosing metroplex, but seems that stuff can be used quite liberally judging by the instructions
well now my QT tank is quite green, is that the norm? seemed to happen pretty much right after i dosed the furan 2
What copper test kit do you useother info:
copper is at 2.0 for about a week now
dosed round 2 of GC earlier today (today is when i noticed the sore but not sure if appeared today or i just didn't notice)
the qt is quite well oxygenated so that shouldn't be an issue
