Is this velvet?

one of my clowns has been acting off this morning. Also noticed this “velvety” coating on her as well as some damaged fins. I am currently on my way to petco to get a tank to set up as a hospital tank. If it is velvet what steps do i need to take to save her?

Ok what medication should i be looking for? The only place available to me currently is petco and petsmart

It is brook and best is a formalin based medication such as quick cure or ruby rally pro
This should be done in a quarantine setting with added aeration
Ruby rally pro will take a little longer to take effect
If you don’t have either product, you can give the fish a 5 minute freshwater dip to offer it temporary relief and buy some time but dip is Not a cure

The best way to tell Brooklynella from Velvet is to check the fish's breathing rate. In the early stages of Brook, the fish won't be breathing more than about 120 gill beats per minute, while with velvet it will be over 150.

Just got word from my wife that the clown has died. We currently have moved the remaining clown to a QT tank for observation and to allow for a 6 week fallow period in the display tank. Once we get the medications, should I treat the remaining clown as if it is infected and follow the recommended treatment protocols? Thanks for all of your help so far, I wish I had noticed something was wrong sooner.

A lot of the obvious signs don’t show up until it’s too late.
I definitely would recommend you treat the other fish. Generally, if the parasite is visible on one fish, it’s already begun to spread to the rest.
