Worked out that its not velvet and it was stress marks that tailspot blennys get. It didnt make it though, I did a short FW dip but I think that pushed it over the edge. Can you post a video?
Is the fish still eating?
How long have you had it?
Any other fish in the tank with it?
Do you have a treatment tank available?
Jay
I’ve not had issues like that with emerald crabs and healthy fish, but maybe?Worked out that its not velvet and it was stress marks that tailspot blennys get. It didnt make it though, I did a short FW dip but I think that pushed it over the edge.
Its in there with a watchman and a gramma. Its been in there with that dou for about 6 months. The Gramma is showing signs of stress but the watchman is fine.
Do you think its possible that emerald crabs are picking at them at night. The two fish that sleep in the rocks were stressed and at slightly beat up looking fins whereas the goby who has an in sand cave is fine.
I say the crabs because this seems to have started sunday when I got them.
Keep an eye on fish. Tail and dorsals seem a little ragged
Heavy fast breathing and he's been laying on his side in a cave or crevise all day. Only would eat when I spot fed his cave and even then didnt come out very far.I’ve not had issues like that with emerald crabs and healthy fish, but maybe?
What “signs of stress” is the gramma showing?
Jay
Rapid breathing is a very serious, but non specific symptom. Grammas are prone to gill flukes. If it is that, Prazipro can be dosed in your DT if needed.Heavy fast breathing and he's been laying on his side in a cave or crevise all day. Not lethargic though, when the food when in his head came to the front immedietly, just didnt come out any further. Until today Ive never seen him hide away during the day, always was out.
