Is this vermetid snails on my hammer?

I just got this hammer coral.
Looks good but all these smalls bumps.
I am thinking this is vermetid snails growing.
Are they?

Or this is normal for hammer frag?

I thought they split instead of sprouting?

The obvious bumps are stems of hammers that started to sprout. I don’t see any vermetids which are dark brown in color normally

Not straight away but it might do over time it depends how bad it is.
