Is this waiting for disaster to happen

So long story short, most of my tank are custom build. I recently got a used redsea 20 gallon nano. I was always curious of the overhang in the front of the tank. After filling my redsea today i noticed that the foam mat that came with it doesnt even cover the tank completely. Some peeps told me that the foam expand once tank is filled. Well, this tank is filled and the foam still sitting way smaller than the tank.
any redsea owner can chime in if this is normal?

I would not be comfortable if that were my tank. BRS has leveling mats that you can razor blade to size.

You can always empty tank and stretch.

The pressure really builds in the corners, so you definitely want the corners supported. The way this is currently sitting, there’s probably even more risk because the pads are pushing up between the corners while the water pushes down.

Im definitely not an engineer and have no real idea of what I’m talking about, but I would drain the tank and go get pieces of foam cut to the right size.

It's normal. My RSR 425xl is like that. The front panel of the tank overhangs the stand. You should be all good. I was weirded out by it when I first got it, but looked into it and it is like that on purpose.

Might be normal from what previous poster posted but I’m trying to figure out why it wouldn’t run the length of the tank. I would be happy if it was mine.

RSR250 here - the foam mat covers side to side completely but the front panel does overhang and isn’t supported.

Mine is somewhat like that. Since the front lip of the tank overhangs, I wouldn’t be too concerned.

what about the foam that is not supportingthe tank completely. Look at the pix, the foam mat missed the edges and the outside glass pannel all around.

I was always under the belief that tanks had to have a matt of some sort covering the entire bottom but then Fluval came along with a whole range of tanks that sit on small bases. My Fluval Evo hasn’t got support on any of the corners! I would love to know how this works.
