Is this weird melanurus wrasse behavior?

I’ve never had a melanurus wrasse hide so much/have such a weird schedule. There’s one in the 120 at school and he only comes out in the morning and by lunch time and sometimes earlier he isn’t seen again until the very next day lol. Does anyone else’s wrasse only stay out for a bit during the day and the same time everyday then go hide in the sand? Also I worry about him getting enough to eat since he isn’t always out during feeding time although I know they scavenge so I hope it’s enough. He’s not new to the tank either and has been in it for a few months or just seems to be his weird thing lol.

My red coris is notorious for that. Been with me for a few years now and is still occasionally fickle with when its out. Long as you see it on occasion and it eats when out, it will be fine.

OMG! This is the first time I’ve ever seen the wrasse out at night!
