Is too much Purigen possible?

Would 500ml of Purigen be too much for my 12g nano? I custom built a rather large hob sump and have only managed to fill half of it. There's 12 compartments total, each a 3 inch cube.

I'm running 3x cheato, 2x live rock, 1x bio rings, 1x poly.

Looking for something to add in the other 5-6 open compartments to either increase export or perhaps import something helpful for growing my frags.

I don't know. I expect that too much organic export is undesirable. I don't know where that tips from desirable to undesirable.

do you find purigen useful for removing something? Why are you considering using a large enough dose you are worried about it?

The recommended use rate is 250 mL for 1000 liters

I would prefer activated carbon over purigen, but don’t overdo that either.

Overdoing anything is not good. For most things, the dose makes the poison.

I found purigen did nothing detectable. Are you considering a massive dose useful because it can be regenerated/cleaned easily?
