Iso 55 Bow

Its a fungia plate, not sure if thats exactly the same thing as a diaseris or not, but its got a small mouth that eats mysis like crazy, everything doing good so far.

I am posting my parameters here weekly just for my own reference and be able to access them whenever I have internet access. I would also be angry if I lost my little notebook I have been keeping.

Added a ATO with 1/2 Tbsp Mg per 5 gallons of RO/DI, this raised Mg to very high levels dropping alkalinity in my next test. Beginners mistake here. LFS closed for the holidays so I had overdosed on top of not having the equipment to properly test.

01-02-13
S.G. - 1.024
Alk - 6.9 dKH
Ca - 480ppm
Mg - 1500ppm
Nit - 0
Pho - 0
pH - 8.0
Added:
1 Tablespoon of Kalk + from Brightwell aquatics. My LFS was out of Kalk+ and this guy tests my water every week. We noticed my screw up and he gave me some of the Kalk + to get it back in line. He said he gave me 1 table spoon which I added with 3 cups of RO/DI once mostly dissolved to my sump. I took my water back and retested for Mg and Alk the next day. Nothing in the tank seemed bothered, everything was normal. No WC this week.

01-03-13
S.G. - 1.025
Alk - 9.5 dKH
Ca - X
Mg - 1450ppm
Nit - X
Pho - X
Added:
Nothing added this time around, 5g WC as normal with 1.025 S.G. salt and no other additives. Waiting for a week or two to make sure my Mg stays within acceptable parameters. Everything in the tank looks fine, nothing to report.

I can't say for sure because I'm no pro by any means. But I think only a diaseris can be fragged. But then on the other hand it could also be a spawn of an octoplate.

S.G. - 1.023 (little drop)
Alk - 8.5 dKH
Ca - 490ppm
Mg - 1380ppm

5g water change nothing added. Still using Reef Crystals from Instant Ocean.

Update on some corals. I picked up a few pieces tonight, if I could get an ID on the first three acros pictured (just what they look like, I know they arent ORA originals or "named" pieces). Just curious what you guys would name if you had to say they looked like something.

Going to try and take a pic of everything tomorrow for progression, tanks getting pretty stocked, im really happy with this hobby! Dosing now too with Kalk 2+ 5; teaspoons per 5 gallons of RO/DI in ATO. Saving for equipment to drill my 29g and 20g waiting to be my frag tank and refugium once I get the stand built and all that jazz.

Shes the newest edition, I know shes going to be much to large for a 55 in the future and I plan on upgrading before that happens. My girlfriend however WOULDN'T leave it alone...we had to have a "Dori" she kept saying. The tang also wont let me get close enough to get a good picture but I am too anxious to wait to put up ones later on. She has been eating and grazing on little algae here and there in the tank for 3 days now. Looks healthy. Im hoping for the best, I know the survival rate on these guys is low, at least from what I have read.

I plan to plumb in 29 frag tank and a 20 refugium. The 55 and the 29 will drain to the refugium, refugium to the current sump, then the return pumps (2 of them for 2 seperate tanks) back to the 55 and 29. Once its all said and done Ill post a picture for clarification. So far I have built the stand for the 2 tanks. I have built the stand out of 2x4's and deck screws and used labratory grade counter top I salvaged from my brother in laws garage. The stuff is amazing its a plastic polymer that does not stain, corrode and will not leech anything, not that that is really an issue.

I am building this setup for pure functionality, not looks so it will be ugly. I have some pictures of the stand completed I also have some pictures of my first attempt (tonight) at drilling glass, so I know I wont destroy my tanks when I try to drill those I used a old cracked mirror that was not tempered that we had laying around. I plan to drill the back of my 29 and the side of my 20 1 hole for drain on each. Here is my progress so far. I plan to drill the tanks this weekend and hopefully get some plumbing done.

Sorry for the poor quality, my brick envy 2 phone is all I have at my brother in laws, I use his garage to do all my wood work and tank stuff :)

only plumbing in the frag tank, the refugium is just too much right now for me and i don't have the financial means or time to do it correctly, im also moving soon hopefully.

They are not loading on my phone after I post although I'm posting them from my .phone Idk
